I know that if I don't catch up now I probably never will. This is all old news . . .but here goes our month of May. It was a crazy busy month. It took the entire month of June to recover. Between concerts, recitals, spelling bees, school plays, 3 kid's ball practices and two birthdays, things got a little hectic.

Peyton had his Kindergarten Concert the first week of May. He was cute and concentrated really hard to get all the words and actions right. He had a very serious look on his face the entire concert!

Landon turned two on May 13th. He was really cute opening all of his presents and was so excited. We actually celebrated his birthday a day late because the boys were at the father and son's camp-out (Landon didn't get to go-Josh says they have to be out of diapers to get invited-mean dad!)

We had a party with his cousin Mady, who was born two days after Landon. They both had their own mini-cake to eat. It was nauseating to watch them eat the frosting, which was the only part of the cake that actually got eaten.

Yummy frosting!

MaCayle had her piano recital on May 16th. This was her first year taking piano and she did really well. She has continued taking lessons in the summer and is moving right along. About another 6 months and she'll be better than me. (Which isn't hard to do-in my next life I am going to be really good at playing the piano.) I love this picture of Cayle-Isn't she getting grown up looking?

Landon spent the month making messes and acting his age. He is my first kid to hit the terrible two's with full force.

Cayle participated in the school play. It had three performances. She had a small part (she had two seperate lines), which she was glad for. She can be pretty shy and this was her first time doing something like this. I am proud of her for trying something new.

The last couple weeks of school, Cayle cleaned up in the awards department. She got 5th place in her grade's spelling bee (out of like 180 kids). Next year she actually wants to study so she can win (I couldn't convince her to study until like 2 days before). Anyone that knows me knows that I was way more nervous during the spelling bee than MaCayle was. I would of totally missed her second word. Good thing she actually has some composure under pressure (unlike her mother)

She also received two awards during her school's end of the year assembly. She got a reading award (2 kids per class received this award) as well as the Merit award that is given to only 15 kids in the whole school. She got the Merit Award for going above and beyond what is expected of her. She was nominated by her teacher, who wrote a really sweet letter about her. The winners of this award got to ride in a hummer limo with the principal (it's funny how kids think that doing anything with the principal is so awesome!) and they got to go to town and get ice cream at Mick's. Her best friend Rylie also won this award so that made it even funner!

Cayle and Rylie outside the hummer

Peyton got an award for 100% attendance throughout the entire year of Kindergarten. In Peyton's words "I went to school even when I was sick and all I got was a stupid piece of paper!" I would be keeping that information to yourself Peyton. It makes me look bad.

Bowen turned 5 years old on May 24th. He had his friend Gabe over to play. They opened presents, played DS's, and had chocolate donuts.

Bo got more donut on his face than in his mouth.

He got a new remote control truck, a life jacket (already put to good use), and something else I can't remember. Give me a break- it's been two and a half months already.
So there you have the month of May. Hopefully I will stay motivated and get the month of June done and published before Christmas!
